BECCA ROSE
MUSICIAN & SONGWRITER
ABOUT
Over the last 15 years, Becca's sound has evolved to what is now a fusion of folk, soul and blues. Her musical journey began at the age of 11 when she first picked up the acoustic guitar, and by 14, was busking on the streets of Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. These early performances set the stage for a path that has led her to BBC Introducing events, songwriting competitions, collaborations, and support slots and performances at renowned festivals such as Latitude and Sundown.
In her early twenties, Becca took a brief break from music, but the pull of songwriting was never far away - upon reconnecting with her folk roots, she reignited her passion for creating and performing, returning to the stage with a fresh sense of purpose.
Described as husky, rich and with a sense of vulnerability, her vocals effortlessly blend the smoky intensity of soul with the reflective, poetic qualities of folk, creating a sound that is both distinctive and deeply expressive.

Most recently, Becca has joined forces with musically accomplished saxophonist, composer, and producer Andy Hamilton, who most known for his work with George Michael, Duran Duran, The Pet Shop Boys, Tina Turner & Radiohead. Together they are fusing jazz and pop influences with Becca's folk-inspired sound. Their new collaboration, set for release in early 2025, marks an exciting new phase in Becca’s musical journey, blending her rich, soulful voice with innovative arrangements.

ROOTS
As well as honing in on collaborative composition work, Becca is also focusing on her own original pieces that have, and continue to carry her through this journey, deeply drawing on influences in the folk world - a world very familiar and exciting to her.
In addition to her original work, Becca loves exploring traditional and contemporary folk songs from over the years. She particularly loves performing her own versions of these songs, solo or in duet.
